Static Revenger Returns

Print
What only seemed like yesterday, ClubAntix got the pleasure to catch up with Static Revenger.

Back in Australia for most of November playing along the east coast, he had a few things to brag about...

"I've just finished a Swedish House Mafia Remix, Miami to Ibiza", so now "I'm here on tour," he says settling into a 5 minute break in his hotel. Playing more times than he can count in a space of days which back in Australia, he'll be fitting in some sleep and tourist time in Melbourne, "playing Saturday night, then Sunday at Day Glow," Monday and Tuesday – sleep! "I'm so busy..."

Not sure if it's us that love him to much or that we just can't get rid of him, Static Revenger (Dennis White) loves being here for the second of what will be 3 visits to Australia in the last 6 months. One bonus of it all is that "the flight is like 16 hours so its like a mini vacation, just sitting around watching movies and being forced to relax." This time getting a little more love by being "upgraded and put into the front, it was particularly fun," he giggles, "if only they would do another lap (before landing) and passing around more champagne." Laughing, "I'm happy to go with the premise as a rock star!"

Without this time on planes and in-between sets, he's be in an even bigger frenzy to get ready for gigs, "I'm so busy," he admits, but can see that Australians obviously "totally hate me," he jokes, Putting in all this effort for us and those too busy to live his life, "who has the time to live my life, I'm a giver." Laughing with the tone of the Kings English, "I'm totally awesome, it's not some load of arrogance," he jokes, putting in all this time and effort for the fans, "it's like I'm the one taking out the garbage cause people are too busy to live my life."

Working at the moment on a few things with Shakira, "I like working with her," he admits and has also just finished a "big fuck off 70s rock sample from Boston, called Long Time and a single with Vandalism out in November called Vegas with the video, shot in Vegas." Touring with Vandalism, he's hoping that he has time to put his sets together, "watching me DJ, would be like watching Evil Kenevil trying to DJ. Throwing shit down, a 2 hour panic attack." Nevertheless, he manages to stay together, "it's part of my artistic process, improve jazz like, high art coming into my organisation of the DJ Improvisational."

"My sets are like a school high assignment due on Friday and it's 11pm Thursday night."

If all that wasn't enough, the other highlights of 2010 includes over 5 million hits on the YouTube Video for I Like That, "I'm super stoked mainly cause I made that video," he beamed. He's also putting the finishing touches on another documentary, "if I can shake this cold and find some stuff in Australia," it'll be all done.

If only this year wasn't "totally nuts."
