Escaping from the confines of the think tank of a very special guy, Tobias Lüt¬zenkirchen aka Lutzenkirchen, Germany’s least kept secret when it comes to amazing dance floor productions that are neither predictable nor stylistically faithful, this boundless electronic super nova comes right on time to turn the world upside down, infecting minds and bodies with its treacherous rhythms and slandering grooves.
Whereas the mystical tragedy that inspired “Pandora Electronica” brought upon us greed, vanity, slander, envy, and pining, the mastermind behind this strike had something else in mind when unleashing his first artist album-- and it comes with a studio mix! Releasing himself from the confines of pigeon-ho¬les, Lützenkirchen deliberately pushes musical boundaries by active-ly avoiding stylistic labeling and the classic album format exposing himself not only as a producer, but also as a DJ. In his typically headstrong way, he incorporates eve¬rything from jazzy chords to cheeky samples and constructs a powerful mix of all those elements of techno, progressive, electro, trance, and house that make those bodies move to create something that is unmistakably him.
Presented with great credibility, it is senselessness in its highest form, per¬fectly balancing mind-breaking mindlessness with epic grandeur. In the video, trashed Lütze himself jumps around in a rabbit costume--the last genius strike on a long list of completely hit-formatted productions. Strange, but true: they never, ever sound predictable although they always meet the expectations of dancers and listeners alike.
Upon the opening of the small box, a great panorama unfolds itself: Presenting his first ever long player and studio mix in one release, there is simply no better way of catching up with the activities of Lützenkirchen. “Pandora Electronica” encompasses everything from the first releases as Lützenkirchen in 2005 to the latest hits which already promise to be the highlights of 2008.
The album consists of new productions only and offers a real scope of the artist’s spectrum dwelling in the here and now, a musical cornucopia offering an insight into what’s on Lütze’s musical radar. Sprinkled with citations from oldskool rave to Arabic music, it becomes obvious that there were 1001 and one nights that inspired, sparking off great productions like “Smack My Pony”or “Cairo On Acid”. It is without fail an utterly danceable ride all across the universe of sound that tainted the mind of its inventor, and of course it includes “3 Tage Wach” that saw its initial release on Oliver Koletzki’s Stil vor Talent imprint.
As if this wasn’t already enough to get a dead body dancing, the mix comprises another 25 Lützenkirchen tracks, older material that saw its release between 2005 and 2008. From Lütze’s first coming-out of the studio closet to raw party mayhem stuff that pre-empted what was to come on Platform B, his very own label launched in 2006, it does not fail to deliver the greatest and phattest club burners dreamt up by the exceedingly creative brainaic Lütze. Recent sma¬shers like “Paperboy” see eclectic combinations with older stuff like “Storm Chaser”, taking elegant twists and turnings through the bleepy synth frequen¬cy world of electroey techno trance crescendos like “Monster In My House” and “Lazy Dog Bites The Dirt”--seriously potent dancefloor material not for the faint-hearted.
“Pandora Electronica” is the story of Tobias Lützenkirchen, the über producer who emerged from his studio where he spent much of his life acquiring those skills that now pay off in any way. If there is one guy on this planet that really takes things to a new level, it’s him.
