BRISCOE WORK A DOUBLE SHIFT TOURING THEIR NEW SINGLE, “DAY JOB”
“The 6-piece, armed with tribal inspired face paint, launched into their set with full force, the vibe was fun, unified and contagious...” – theorangepress.net
Briscoe is a Sydney six-piece making country-tinged power pop music fronted by ex-Kid Confucius drummer Bart Denaro.
Their first album ‘Friends Ago’ will be out through MGM later this year and features their second single “Day Job”. The single, like the album, was produced independently by Bart and band and recorded mostly in their bedrooms and lounge rooms after work.
Bart wrote “Day Job” at his office in the process of slowly dying inside. It’s a garbled, petty internal argument that offers no insights and makes indignant prosaic points to no one. But it’s fun. And short.
Briscoe began in 2010 when Bart was joined by Jacob Sewell (guitar, vocals), David Anderson (bass), Kate Anderson (keys, vocals), Dee Dee Pask (synth, percussion, vocals), and Ross Ferraro (drums). The band members are, or at one time have been, a part of other acts including The Ray Mann Three, Gin Wigmore, Ngaiire, Dusker and Ranger Spacey.
Their debut single, “Animal” was released earlier this year to glowing reviews and national airplay.
Briscoe will commence touring this May in support of their latest offering, “Day Job”.
