Known for discovering and showcasing hot up and comers to their global audience - while continuing to highlight what is played in the opulent surroundings of the hotel in Paris – Hotel Costes 15 is released in Australia on 18th November by One World Music.
Since 1999, the compilation series has featured an abundant array of fresh and established talent from all corners of the globe. Always in keeping with the sounds that form the mood of the café bar of the Hôtel Costes, this latest release re-connects with the first numbers in the series by showcasing exciting artists who are on the rise. In the past, such talents as Brigitte, Pink Martini, Jehro, Angus & Julia Stone, General Elektrik, Variety Lab, Thievery Corporation, Thunderball and Gotan Project have been included.
Once again mixed together by Stephane Pompougnac, key moments of the eclectic collection of tracks include Second Date’s ultra-cool ‘Young, Beautiful etc’, Brigitte Fontaine & Grace Jones version of Duke Ellington’s 1937 ‘Caravan’, Lanu’s ‘Beautiful Trash’ featuring Australia’s own Megan Washington and DJ Cam’s groove fuelled ‘Swim’ (blackjoy version).
As with every instalment, volume 15 features a number of exclusive tracks, making it a must have for avid collectors of down and mid-tempo music.
