Is has been confirmed that Guru, one half of pioneering '80s, '90s and '00s Brooklyn-based Hip Hop group Gang Starr & mastermind of the Jazzmatazz album series has undergone an operation which was successful and he is now in hospital recovering.

Solar (his partner in 7 Grand records & producer of Jazzmatazz vol 4 and Guru's recent recording) confirmed that Guru is in a serious but stable condition, hoping for a full recovery. He went on to say "All the love and well wishes from the fans around the world is what is keeping Guru fighting".
