Creamfields: Ashley Wallbridge

Print
Ashley Wallbridge is popping over to Australia as part of the Creamfields tour sweeping the nation from May. In being a fan it was all too easy to say yes to the chance to have a chat with him. It was all a pity really. Here I was, sitting in the car (on the way to the 'other' job), chilly morning in Melbourne, impressed by the fantastic service through a conference centre connecting the call to the UK, eager to chat to a very talented producer.

Pity the technology didn't agree.

What really makes him tick? What's a passion for Ashley past music? Well... we don't really know. Although I think it has a lot to do with great weather and Golf.

Having only a handful of minutes of actual conversation over a phone line reminiscent of two cups and a piece of string, ClubAntix had the chance to ask a few questions to the man that is, Ashley Wallbridge. Ashley is one of the brightest stars in the UK‘s dynamic pool of emerging DJs/Producers. His talent is now clearly recognised and has had unquestionably one of the biggest hits of 2009 with ‘Faces', a staple in the Melbourne Trance diet for 2009.

The collaboration with Andy Moor ft Meighan Nealon has gathered immense global attention, dominating all download charts and even receiving the full video treatment. Ash hit 2010 with a bang, releasing his incredible track "Chimera" which stormed into the beatport charts at number 1.

Productions such as 'Faces', ‘Harrier', 'My Blood', 'Spitfire', 'I believe', ‘Solidaritet', 'Harmonies' and many others have firmly entrenched him into the producers upper class with the DJ elite including Ferry Corsten and Marcus Schulz demanding his remix touch.

In coming to Australia, his talents will be lapped up nation wide with tracks even the anti-trancer's would know all the words to. Trying to get to the studio at 3 degree 'heat', Ashley himself was more excited to getting to Australia for some sunshine, "it's always great weather when I come over... Here it is just too cold." Ready to show off a few other talents, Ashley is hoping to "playing some golf with my manager, maybe get to the beach," while taking full advantage of the almost 3 week trip down under. The incorporated plan of tunes and relaxing includes trying to see if the rumour of the Aussie locals is true, laughing hysterically "I hear the girls are just gorgeous!"

Although being in a location currently that is "never warm", one thing that was clear is that it only took a moment to realise that even with the success Ashley has achieved already, it has in no way gone to his head, with a personality that could light up a room. What is also clear, is Ashley's huge dedication to music and respect for the law, driving with a hands-free kit through dodgie reception areas. Justifiably gloaming with excitement, his recent achievements include a new remix for AVB Remix as well as few bits and pieces that may just be gracing our shores from May 2010.

I certainly can't wait for Ashley as part of Creamfields: Sydney - Melbourne - Perth - Brisbane
