We had the chance to talk to the "Andy Warhol of Dance Music."
1 - The latest tour, what's in store for the Australian audience?
Well, I am experimenting with keeping every song different from the last... Style-wise, but play a little bit of something that everyone should like in the electro-techno-pop-crash, rockn rave style.
2 - Your ultimate goal in music?
I love people of all kinds to hear better music that they can remember when they go home at the end of the night. Having written songs for princess superstar Shontelle, Rupaul, and remixed Kele frm bloc party, Crookers, Roising Murphy, La Roux and more... My goal is to make people happy and keep them dancing...
3 - (If you can tell us without killing us), what is the secret to your long and successful career?
Changing with the times... I have played every kind of music in my career and always love the latest sounds.
4 - DJ Mag said you are the "Andy Warhol of dance music", thoughts?
I love the freaks and I love mixing different kinds of things together NOT just dance artists and dance beats. Artists I work with use art, dance, fashion, culture and more to make their style. For example, using Perez Hilton, the worlds most famous blogger on my album, or nasty mouthed female rappers and transsexual Amanda Lepore on an album, to me is a challenge... To make them valid on the dance floor..
5 - Best channel of coverage: New York, London or Playboy?
Playboy... I like it sexy...
6 - Biggest tip for someone starting out?
Do something that you really are passionate about. I think you have a better chance of making others excited if you can excite yourself.
7 - What does the family think of all this?
My family is patient hehehehe. My mother and dad support everything I do, but my brother turned out really conservative, so he sometimes doesn't get it... But he never complains... I am considered a success in my family so he doesn't really care.
8 - If a piece of string, what colour would you be and why?
A multi-coloured piece of string that goes and goes and goes... I like a bit of everything and that makes for a very pretty string.
9 - Most random request while playing?
I dodged a Pussycat Dolls remix request in the Gold Coast... When she told me it was her favorite group, I just avoided taking any requests from her... but I don't HATE them...
10 - Where does the inspiration come from for your tracks?
From the train or conversations I overhear, or the magazines I read or the internet... I think the most exciting ideas come from every day living...and that way, people respond to them and can relate more...
11 - People you'd love to have front row centre at a gig?
OMG! Donatella Versace, Barack Obama
12 - Name one track that you didn't produce but wish you did?
Right Said Fred - I'm too sexy!
13 - What is the real secret to a perfect moustache?
Trimming from the bottom...or so I am told... Usher taught me how to do mine...
14 - Place in the world you haven't played but hope to?
Have to be Greece
