Strug Out

Often cited as one of Fat Wreck Chords’ flagship bands, STRUNG OUT have cemented their prominence in the punk scene through their influential and constantly progressive sound. Over the course of their storied 20 years as a band they have spawned countless imitators, but none have been able to emulate STRUNG OUT’s scorching blend of aggressive metal riffs and captivating melodies.

With ¾ million sales across 7 full-lengths, 2 EPs, a live album, and a B-sides album to their credit, the band’s catalogue is formidable, to say the least. With this in mind, and conscious of the fact that they are consistently welcoming new fans into the fold, STRUNG OUT decided it was high time to put together Top Contenders: The Best of Strung Out.

Cavie

If you have been listening to hip-hop for any period of time chances are you have hear the work of, Kannon “Caviar” Cross.

Growing up In Southside Compton, Caviar (aka Cavie) witnessed the genesis of the gangsta rap movement firsthand. With his father locked up in the penitentiary and his mother addicted to crack, it was the big homies in the hood who Cavie looked up to. At 12 years old Cavie was blessed to be mentored by Eazy-E and was a regular in the studio when (at the time) DJ Train was working with a little known rap group called, N.W.A.
